Spring Break 2011

Colorado Backcountry Skiing & Snowboarding
The Friends Seminary Outdoor Program is traveling to the Sawatch Range of Colorado for a Backcountry Skiing & Snowboarding Trip. We will visit our friends at the High Mountain Institute in Leadville before and after a 4 expedition to Vance's cabin, a Tenth Mountain Division Hut. Also on our itinerary is 2 days of skiing @ Ski Cooper.

Experiential Education Faculty

Wilderness First Responder, CPR for the professional rescuer, Outdoor Emergency Care - National Ski Patrol member , British Canoe Union - coach level 4 kayak, Professional Ski Instructors of America- level 2 Nordic downhill, level 1 Nordic track/skate, level 1 Alpine, American Avalanche Institute - level 2. BS in Social Welfare with a concentration in outdoor leadership & program administration, Bloomsburg University

Deanna Yurchuk - Teaching @ FS since 2001. Wilderness First Responder, CPR for the professional rescuer, British Canoe Union - coach level 2 kayak, Professional Ski Instructors of America - level 2 Nordic downhill, American Avalanche Institute - level 2. BS in Journalism, Rutgers University. MA in Outdoor Leadership, Prescott College.
